DEBRA DESIGN A BUG Competition Terms and Conditions

  1. Definitions and Introduction:

1.1 “Competition” refers to any competition or promotion organised and promoted by PLAYMONSTER UK Ltd (company no. 2799998) whose registered office is at Artisan Building, Hillbottom Road, High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, HP12 4HJ, United Kingdom and KiddyCharts

1.2 “Entrant” refers to anyone who enters the competition.

1.3 “You” refers to the entrant.

1.4 “We” refers to PLAYMONSTER UK and Kiddycharts.

1.5 “Terms” refers to the terms, conditions and rules of entry to the ‘DESIGN A BUG competition’ and you, the entrant will be bound by these terms when you enter.

1.6 “Judge” refers to one or more people who will select the winner(s). This could be PLAYMONSTER UK staff members, Kiddycharts, Nick Baker, Wire PR or external people chosen by PLAYMONSTER UK.

1.7 We may add to, amend or vary these competition terms and conditions at any point, at our discretion.

1.8 You agree to co-operate with and comply with all reasonable requests made by us in connection with this competition and its promotion.

  1. Eligibility & Entry Criteria:

2.1 The competition will run from Sunday 16/05/21 to 18/06/21. Entries received after 6pm on this day will not be counted.

2.2 Entries must be completed by a representative of a primary school, teacher or an adult with parental responsibilities for the child who is entering.

2.3 All entries must be uploaded via DESIGN A BUG google form or by email to mylivingworlduk@gmail.com

2.4 Entry must be made via email or the google form. You can post your designs on social media using the hashtag #DESIGNABUG and tagging our page @mylivingworlduk and @kiddycharts on Facebook; Twitter and Instagram, but it will not be counted unless emailed or entered via google form.

2.5 Entrants are asked to design a bug using the template in the My Living World resource pack. Designs can be made using drawing, painting, 3D art or a computer. From beautiful butterflies to super slimy slugs, pupils can let their creativity and imagination run wild.

2.6 Entries must include the entrant’s chosen design as a file attachment that can be opened using Microsoft Office, plus contact details to include: name, age, address, class, school name, contact number and email for the school representative entering. In case of parent entering, they use their details and list the details of their child’s school.

2.7 Please also specify your relationship with the child, teacher, parent, school representative.

2.8 Multiple entries are permitted.

2.9 Open to school pupils aged 4-11 years, attending a primary school in Britain.

2.10 Children under the age of 16 MUST have the permission of a parent or guardian and must ask a parent or guardian to send their entry on their behalf. Entries from children under the age of 16 without clear consent from a parent or guardian will not be included.

2.11 It must be made clear at the point of entry who the entrant is and what relationship the sender is to the entrant, if different.

2.12 We reserve the right to request identification proving the entrants legal name and age.

2.13 No fee is payable for entry to the competition.

3. Competition Winner:

3.1 The 4 runner ups are chosen by PLAYMONSTER UK, Kiddycharts and their PR representatives. The winning design and the school to visit will be chosen by Nick Baker, PLAYMONSTER UK and Kiddycharts at their discretion and no further communication will be entered into regarding the choice of winner. A UK primary school must be nominated for a visit with each entry. If a runner up’s school isn’t available, we will select another winner for the visit from Nick Baker.

    3.2 The winner will be announced by the means detailed in 3.3 and 3.6 no later than 05/07/21.

    3.3 The winner’s entry will be displayed on Playmonster.co.uk and Kiddycharts websites, our social media channels, including but not exclusive to: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn and we reserve the right to display the winning design on any other channel or platform, either owned by us or by a 3rd party as we see fit. The winner’s FIRST NAME and AGE will be displayed alongside their design. If we require additional information to be published, we will gain consent from the competition winner first.

    3.4 All other ‘non-winning’ entries may also be displayed on PLAYMONSTER UK and Kiddycharts owned platforms as described in 3.2 and may be used in other media promotion about the competition, at the discretion of PlaymonsterUK and Kiddycharts.

    3.5 The winner will be notified by return email and by phone if contact details are included. PLAYMONSTER UK and Kiddycharts may display the winning design on the platforms mentioned in 3.2 without waiting for the entrant to confirm they are aware of their win.

    3.6 PLAYMONSTER UK may ask the winner to partake in promotion relating to their win which may include a photo (s) of the winner, quotes and other comments used in conversation relating to the competition. The winner reserves the right to refuse this promotion if they so wish but this does not affect 3.2.

    3.7 If the winner chooses to participate in their own promotion in the press or otherwise, you must inform PLAYMONSTER UK and follow our guidelines on how to talk about the competition.

    3.8 PLAYMONSTER UK and Kiddycharts may at any point decide to choose more than one winner at the judge’s or relevant staff member’s discretion.

    3.9 Entries which are not selected as winners will not be contacted to inform them that they have been unsuccessful but may be contacted to discuss any other promotion and inclusion of their entry in any media as PLAYMONSTER UK see fit.

    1. Intellectual Property Rights & Data:

    4.1 By entering this competition, you, the entrant, confirm that:

    4.1.1 you waive any Intellectual Property Rights or any other rights so that we will be entitled to use the design in any and all media at no cost to PLAYMONSTER UK.

    4.1.2 you will not infringe the Intellectual Property Rights, privacy or any other rights of any third party.

    4.1.3 your entry or any communication about your entry will not contain anything which is untrue, defamatory, obscene, indecent, harassing or threatening.

    4.1.4 your entry must not violate any applicable law or regulation (including any laws regarding anti-discrimination or false advertising).

    4.1.5 your entry will/does not to the best of your knowledge, contain any viruses or other computer programming routines that are intended to damage, detrimentally interfere with, surreptitiously intercept or expropriate any system, data or personal information belonging to PLAYMONSTER UK, its partners and other entrants.

    4.2 Entrants permit PLAYMONSTER UK to edit or change entries (whether text, photographs, audio or videos) in any way it may, in its sole discretion, consider necessary for the purposes of use in the competition.

    4.3 We will only use your data for the purposes of this competition, unless we already hold your data on our database, in which case we will keep your data for the purposes originally intended. You can request a copy of the data we hold or opt out at any time by emailing mylivingworlduk@gmail.com

    4.4 We respect your privacy and will not pass your details on to any third party without your permission.     1. Exclusion of Liability/Indemnity & Disqualification:

    5.1 We shall have no liability whatsoever for any costs, expenses, losses, damages, liabilities, injury or disappointment, whether special, direct, indirect or consequential suffered by you howsoever arising in connection with the competition.

    5.2 PLAYMONSTER UK will not be responsible for any ‘lost’ entries that do not appear in the official inbox detailed in 2.2, whether due to user error, technical error or any other reason.

    5.3 We reserve the right to cancel the competition at any point, without prior notice regardless of how many entries have been submitted. We will make every best effort to contact entrants to let them know of any cancellation but cannot guarantee successful contact of all entrants.

    5.4 PLAYMONSTER UK reserve the right to disqualify any winning entry if we become aware that the entrant has committed any unlawful activity or any other activity which brings PLAYMONSTER UK’s reputation into disrepute, or for any other reason which we deem appropriate.

    1. The Prizes

    The prizes are as follows:

    The primary schools the four runners up pupils attend will also win:

    The primary school the pupil with the winning entry attends will win a visit from Nick Baker.
    • The prize is as stated and no cash or other alternatives will be offered. The prizes are not transferable.
    • Prizes are subject to availability and we reserve the right to substitute any prize with another of equivalent value without giving notice.
    • Any prize awarded will be split across the team should a poster be submitted by a team
